Euroeyes Cyclassics 2018 in Hamburg
By now the Vattenfall Cyclassics Hamburg bike race is the biggest cycling event in Europe since 1996. In August every year cyclist from the highest category UCI World Tour start at Germany's only professional cycling race. There is also the possibility to start as a hobby racing cyclist. The race takes place on 19th August 2018.
Challenging route 2018 Hamburg
The Cyclassics Hamburg offers cyclists challenging routes. The professional race leads over 246 km; however hobby cyclist can choose different lengths. The start of all routes is the centre of Hamburg near the St. Peter's Church on Speersort. For professional athletes, the route goes after the start in direction South to the port of Hamburg and then towards Harburg, Buchholz and Jesteburg before the route leads back to Hamburg.
A special event at the Vattenfall Cyclassics Hamburg is the climb up the Waseberg in Hamburg's district Blankenese, where the cyclists have to overcome a 15 percent ascent. At this point results of the winning champions might be already been decided. The amateur athletes can choose between three routes. The cycling route leads over 60 km from the city centre to Schenefeld towards Schleswig-Holstein, for the 120 km the cyclist complete the Southern loop of the professional route and the 180 km distance is a combination of the two routes.
