Did you enjoy your stay? Where can we improve?

You - our guests - are very important to us. We take your opinion, impressions and recommendations very seriously. We would like you to feel at home at our hotel. Therefore, we welcome any feedback, suggestions or recommendation from you.

Please let us know your opinion; whether online via various travel or booking sites, at the reception desk in the relexa hotel or by completing a small guest questionnaire, which you can find in our hotel room.

We would like to make good things even better for you and improve on what is not good enough yet.

With your impressions and feedback we can always improve ourselves and make your stay with us even more enjoyable. Be very open – criticism is just as important as your praise. You can rely on honesty and appreciation

Authentic and honest reviews are very important to us. Review sites such HolidayCheck are very conscientious in controlling all guest reviews. Neither self-written reviews with flattering comments nor slanderous reviews from the competition have any opportunity here. This is especially important to us because your real opinion matters - even if not everything went according to how you were used to it before.

We very much appreciate your feedback, suggestions and your effort. For that reason, we not just read all our reviews thoroughly, but also comment and evaluate them internally. Your praise as well as criticism is given to our relexa teams to ensure we have the opportunity to improve our service.

Horrible service! Not quality for money. Only good thing about this hotel is the location. The hotel is really badly managed!
tanny schmitt (30.11.2023)

Obsługa miła i zawsze uśmiechnięta.

Dann muss man wohl verhungern … Danke!

So!

For a hotel that claims to be a chain, the rooms are abysmally small for the price you pay (I have stayed in hotels under a €100 per night that were bigger. While the twin bed can accommodate a 6' tall man, the shower stall is so miniscule that you have to contort your body to scrub your netherregions! (of course a petite 5' tall woman won't have an issue). The walls are so thin that I could hear my neighbors droning till 0130H! (I literally had to bang on the wall twice to shut them up). Nothing complimentary is offered, although I expected this for the price. The 2 pros that earned a star is that the staff were courteous and the hotel is located a 3 minutes walk to the AK St. Georg bus stop, and Edeka grocery shop. Overall, it is a good choice if you are traveling frugally not comfortably
Hallo Georges,

The room, though aged and clean, lacked everything. No Wi-Fi, no phone, not even a bottle of water. Seeking assistance meant a perpetual descent downstairs, a frustration I endured each time.Upon check-in, I immediately informed a staff member about the Wi-Fi issue, emphasizing an essential morning meeting the next day. While assurances were given, the following morning, during the crucial meeting, no resolution was in sight. Another receptionist responded with a baffling attitude, questioning why I bothered with such "trivial" matters. This experience has not only soured my stay but also tainted my perception of hospitality in Germany.Even in a hotel of this caliber, falsely claiming Wi-Fi availability for any room is unacceptable. I strongly believe that for such misinformation, an apology and compensation are obligatory.Continual complaints did earn me a one-day free breakfast, but thereafter, the staff indulged in derogatory remarks in German behind my back. Initially a Wi-Fi issue, the staff's attitude tainted my first impression of Germany. The service at this hotel is genuinely abysmal, making it a place I'd never want to revisit.

Entering this antiquated establishment, I placed trust in the reviews and ratings, convinced that Wi-Fi was a given. Yet, it was a deceit. My room lacked Wi-Fi, causing significant disruptions to my work. Complaining to the hotel yielded no apologies, just a dismissive response of "What's the big deal if the room doesn't have Wi-Fi?" Leaving me utterly disappointed and infuriated. (The breakfast staff were kind, but, save for two receptionists, the rest were shamefully lacking in manners.) Even in a hotel of this caliber, falsely claiming Wi-Fi availability for any room is unacceptable. I strongly believe that for such misinformation, an apology and compensation are obligatory. Continual complaints did earn me a one-day free breakfast, but thereafter, the staff indulged in derogatory remarks in German behind my back. Initially a Wi-Fi issue, the staff's attitude tainted my first impression of Germany. The service at this hotel is genuinely abysmal, making it a place I'd never want to revisit.
Hallo Jay Jay,

perfect location In 7 minutes you can get to the HH main station by bus The bus stop is a two-minute walk away Rooms sufficient for a city trip. The room style takes some getting used to. Shower is a bit small. €175 a night in a single room is a bit overpriced. Personally friendly and helpful.
H S (24.09.2023)
We received a friendly welcome and check-in was very quick. The rooms are relatively quiet. A very nice young team was always friendly and helpful.
Sebastian Hüttenmüller (17.09.2023)
All in all, it wasn't a really nice stay. The room wasn't really clean and the hotel is generally quite old.
Avv. Nicola Mariani (14.09.2023)
no air conditioning spiders on the ceiling very soft pillows inconvenient location for the center but excellent for the lake
Octavian Walz (Oci) (09.09.2023)
Very friendly staff. The breakfast is very good
Dagmar Meyer (09.09.2023)
Room on the 4th floor, unfortunately no insect protection in front of the windows, which could only be opened in the evening (when the light was on) due to the high daytime temperatures. Breakfast was good, but was only served hesitantly.
Senalow Anett (04.09.2023)
Very pleasant hotel, staff super friendly. Breakfast was great, a bit of everything. I like the location. 10 minutes to the main train station. Definitely coming back.
Juliana Eroglu (14.08.2023)
Rooms are under all sow. Maybe it's because there is a part of the hotel that is renovated and our part - old fashioned and run down. The roof tour was good. First we got a room where you couldn't even open the (only) window. There were blood stains on the sheets from the previous guest and tissues under the bed. Of course we complained. The ladies at the front desk responded well and immediately gave us a new room. Also in the old building. When we returned to the (new) room after an excursion the next day in the afternoon, we found an open room again. The cleaning lady had done a great job: not closing the room properly so that everyone could walk in! WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU SAY?
Emanuel Hermann (12.08.2023)
Great location. In 10 minutes on foot in the city center on the Alster
K Schuback (11.08.2023)
The location, that you can park at the hotel and that you can bring your dog - TOP! - Room and bathroom unfortunately very rocked. Hotel rooms are antique and try to make them nice. Cleanliness for us unfortunately a real minus point.
Mandy Barthel (07.08.2023)
We had 2 nights in this hotel, the staff was very friendly and polite. The hotel is very old and needs to be renovated. The rooms are very dated but ok for a short trip. The breakfast wasn't great either... it was ok.
Lara Philipp (04.08.2023)
Hotel was easy to find. The view was incredibly beautiful. Doors very thin, you could hear what the guests were saying in the hallway:( The breakfast wasn't that great, some rolls were dry and hard. Still recommended :)

Anybody Ready (29.07.2023)
Hotel was ok, 7-10 minutes walk from the city. Room (single) was personally too dark for me. It was clean and quiet. However, the mattress was a disaster, much too hard. Service was always friendly, nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and there was everything you needed, very varied. If the mattresses were better I would check in there again. There is also a parking lot. The hotel is right across the street from the Alster
Dirk Dirk (26.07.2023)
Very good starting point for explorations. Landungsbrücken, Elbphilharmonie, Reeperbahn about 50 minutes on foot. Bus stops just around the corner. Outer Alster directly on the other side of the street.
Frida Mau (25.07.2023)
Perfect location, very friendly and attentive staff and a great breakfast and great rooms. Thanks !
Lars Hartwig (23.07.2023)
The hotel is getting a bit old. The booked family room was relatively small and the rooms for parents and children are not separated by a door. The staff tries very hard and helps with all requests.
Prestia Carolina (22.07.2023)
Decent location the same cannot be said of the room and staff
Melanie Inhestern (19.07.2023)
Location of the hotel very good Staff and breakfast also ok But the room was not in order in my opinion, it was very badly soundproofed and had an outdated design, which wouldn't have been bad, but there wasn't even a real bathroom door, the shower was totally moldy and the sink didn't drain properly and a big spider had also nested there. Didn't feel comfortable there.
Dietmar Bleich (13.07.2023)
The hotel is in a central location, about 700 meters from the main train station or a 10-minute walk from the main train station. Directly across a street on the Outer Alster. Plenty of benches along the Outer Alster and a drinks kiosk are also there. Lots of gastronomy in the immediate vicinity within easy walking distance.
Torun Jansson (12.07.2023)
The hotel has a very good and pleasant location, close to the central station and in a nice neighborhood. The room was very good: we had booked a family room which consisted of two smaller, separate rooms which was appreciated by the whole family. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a big disappointment, which lowers the rating. When we got to breakfast, we ran out of rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, among other things. There were also no glasses for the juice or cups for the tea. The eggs were so hard boiled that the yolks were green. The rolls and fruit were refilled after about 15 minutes, then cups and glasses also arrived, the other was never refilled. For 18 EUR per person, I unfortunately have to say that the breakfast is not at all worth the price.
Christine Kliemke (07.07.2023)
Rooms neat and clean, but unfortunately no room service. You had to ask the staff everything individually. Breakfast buffet plentiful and very good.
Torsten Tratz (06.07.2023)
Very good hotel only 10 minutes walk from Hamburg main station but still very quiet.
Beate Franz (04.07.2023)
Right on the Alster... great. The house has a charm, albeit old-fashioned. My sister and I had a double room in the annexe, fourth floor. With a view of the inner courtyard. The highlight, we had a small patio with lounge seating. Room was tidy. Bed was too soft for me personally, but that's a matter of opinion. What I really complain about is the super small shower cubicle, the door of which also folds inwards. This is really an absolute shortcoming. Power sockets would also be an advantage. Cell phone charging and laptop use would be easier. ...but that's all controllable. On my next stay in Hamburg I will try to stay in this hotel again.
TurbojugendJoe (24.06.2023)
Good location right on the Alster, but with a busy road right in front of the door. I had a standard room with very little comfort, bed was quite good, it was clean.
Michael Schneider (19.06.2023)
One star deducted for the lack of parking. Unfortunately far too few hotels and in the vicinity almost none to be found. But otherwise everything was great.
Waverly Cerise (19.06.2023)
We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The location is great, right on the Alster and very close to numerous shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet had something delicious to offer for everyone. Bathroom and room (family room) were very large. The room was quite simply furnished, which I didn't see as a disadvantage at all given that we wanted to explore Hamburg and not the hotel room ;-) We'd love to come back.
Tommy B (15.06.2023)
Great service stylish decor.
Thomas Krüger (14.06.2023)
Tip top... only to be recommended, a small drop of bitterness... the pillows are a disaster (more like a washcloth).
Katja Wa. (11.06.2023)
Very nice staff and a really fantastic breakfast! Rarely have I seen such a good selection of baked goods, and in such great quality. Lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt and homemade Bircher muesli, organic jams and various juices made the start of the day perfect. Unfortunately, the hotel is not barrier-free, which made it difficult for us to stay in a wheelchair. This could easily be changed with minor modifications, hence a star deduction.
Andre Foerster (11.06.2023)
Not very fresh hotel with limited parking for private cars (early arrival is worthwhile). The location is great - right on the Outer Alster. A bus stop is 1 minute walk away (line 6 without changing to the Speicherstadt, all others up to the main station as a hub). Recommendable restaurants (directly opposite on the Outer Alster or countless in the street Lange Reihe) within walking distance. Good breakfast! For another stay in HH we would book the hotel again.
Ruth (09.06.2023)
Clean and very friendly staff... Breakfast very rich and was always refilled... Also suitable for late risers... Thank you for the nice stay
Teppi1008 (06.06.2023)
The best thing about the hotel is the location, the rooms are noisy and small. If you are looking for a clean and well-kept place to sleep, you will find it here. The rooms are well insulated from the outside so that the lack of air conditioning doesn't bother you. The entrance to the underground car park is not for the faint of heart, the ban on pedestrians on the ramp must be taken seriously, otherwise driving on it is life-threatening.
K Th (04.06.2023)
We had a great room with a view of the Alster. In the premium category, it was very large (*) and with a great, wide bathtub (*). In fact, the street would be too noisy with the window open, but that was announced transparently and closed it was quiet. Elevator(*). The breakfast was very good and varied. We didn't even know where else to eat (*) The location on the Alster and the long row, close to the train station, ideal (*) Thank you, we had a nice weekend. Only alone, the view through a cleaned window would have been nicer.
We thank you for your rating and are pleased that you were so satisfied that we received the full 5 stars.
We'll deal with the window immediately.

A beautiful old building. I personally think the character of the house could be emphasized even more. A pleasant hotel.
Hello,

Thanks for rating. We're sorry that the charm of the house didn't go down so well. Basically, we always try to combine the charm of the old house with the modern areas. We're always on the small quirks, but sometimes there are many small quirks at the same time. We have just renewed the facade and the outdoor lighting and we are constantly working to keep everything in good condition.
Of course, we always try to teach the young employees something. For various reasons, this does not always work out, but we find it very positive that the employees appear friendly and capable and thank you for this assessment.

Beautiful hotel located directly on the Alster. In the immediate vicinity is the Lange Reihe with countless restaurants, cafés and bars. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the train station and the city centre. The staff in the hotel is always very friendly. We had 2 single rooms in the St. Georg building, which can be reached directly from the hotel through a passage. The rooms are quite small, but modernly furnished and quiet. The bathroom is clean and newly renovated. I especially want to mention the breakfast. It is very tasty and rich, with freshly made products and many in organic quality.
Anna Sch. (09.05.2023)
Pretty hotel, in an old building, right on the Alster. Service was great, even if I was not found on the day of arrival. Room was okay, sufficient for 2 nights, just not for sleepers who need it dark. My room faced the courtyard and unfortunately wasn't too dark, there were curtains, but they didn't swallow the light, since the parking lot is brightly lit. So I got a sleep mask for the 2nd night, as there aren't any in the hotel. Would be for something like a tip. Positive that you can quickly get to many locations and the main train station.

Great central location, easy to explore the city on foot. The staff was very friendly, the only thing I didn't like was that one of the young ladies who served breakfast had very long hair (I think wrong hair). I found that very unappetizing as the hair was in a ponytail but because of the length it also got to the tables. It would be good if she wears a hat when working with food. I have room 72 with a view of the courtyard, not spectacular but quiet. The room was very small but was clean. What I didn't like was the old floor carpet in the room and the dark decor of the room. At 22 euros for breakfast, I personally found it very expensive for hotel guests. But there was something for everyone.
Michael Wirtz (15.04.2023)
Front desk and service staff were super friendly. The location directly on the Alster is of course a dream. The rooms are ok. Deduction unfortunately for the narrow beds and the program chaos on the TV. The breakfast, on the other hand, was very good and rich.
Daniela Dorsch (13.04.2023)
Good value for money. Rooms: unfortunately the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Even if there is no staff, the room should be clean. Mirror on the closet totally smeared, and full of children's chatter. "Okay wasn't a problem for us". There was paper under the bed and an empty bottle. The floor had 1000 black hairs, whether that was dog/human hair, no idea.!? Difficult with children. When they play on the floor... Bathroom getting old, but was okay so far. Everything is within walking distance or can be reached by bus. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything freshly prepared, lots of choice. Super nice staff, whether at breakfast or at the reception. Very child-friendly, there was even a cuddly bear.
anne Helmi (11.04.2023)
Very friendly staff if you had any questions they helped very quickly. Furnishings of the room were ok for a single room, a bit dark. But very comfortable bed. A fridge would have been good.

We stayed in Hamburg for two nights and were looking for a hotel near the main station. The hotel was a great decision. The reception was very warm, the room was clean, attractively furnished. The bed was very comfortable, woke up with no back pain. The breakfast was good, something for every taste. The ladies and gentlemen of the breakfast crew were very friendly and attentive. We had a packed lunch with our arrangement, which we took advantage of on the day of departure, it was put together very lovingly. Sandwich, fruit and something for those with a sweet tooth, great. Now briefly to the location of the hotel, super short distances to the bus, you don't need a car. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, but we found a great replacement. A little tip, 5 minutes walk from the hotel to the Frau Möller pub. Good food, good prices and really quaint. Finally, our conclusion, we would love to come back. One thing about the employees, they keep doing it, with joy in their job, so the guest feels comfortable.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable. Directly St Georg with a view of the Alster. The rooms and stairwell have something of an old school UK inn feel to them. Comfortable, rustic, crunchy floorboards. The breakfast is plentiful (and until 12h on weekends) and the staff is very friendly. The cleanliness could be polished a bit, but the room prices are economical and with luck you can also get one of the parking spaces in front of the house (for a fee( Ideal for shopping 🛍️ and strolling over the weekend. I'll be back, I'm a repeat offender 😃
Hallo Tanja,

Thank you very much for your review and we are pleased that you were so satisfied with your stay. I am also pleased that you appreciate the charm of the house.
But I have to correct or correct two things. Breakfast is only on Saturday and Sunday until 12:00 and on the other days until 11:00. Furthermore, the parking spaces are not free of charge. We charge €12.00 per night for this ;-).
I'm very sorry that the cleanliness wasn't that great and I apologize for that.
We would be very happy to welcome you again soon and remain

A very basic hotel. bed, television, bathroom (with a very small shower), there isn't even a fridge. The room was very dark, and you couldn't find a bottle of water in the room. Room service (cleaning only on request). Breakfast ok.
Hello Ronny,

Thank you for your rating, even if it is not so good for us. You probably had a single room in Haus St. Georg and you are right, they are quite small.
You are also right about the cleaning, we only do it on request. But of course you can also use them on a daily basis.
The fact that you were looking for a bottle of water in the room is not entirely conclusive. We don't write anywhere that these exist and they actually don't exist. We have to say goodbye to the times when everything was always provided free of charge. The sharp increase in personnel and energy costs does not stop at a hotel. Therefore, I ask for your understanding that we do not offer anything like this.

Bulls Eye (31.12.2022)
Hotel has a good central location, fast connections to the city. Hotel itself is ok, some of the rooms are in need of renovation. Parking and underground parking terrible. Underground car park dangerous for larger cars because very narrow. No signs of anyone driving out or in, let alone whether the underground car park is already full. Very friendly reception, breakfast is standard, nothing from the region. Breakfast service could be more service oriented.
Lin JanW (29.12.2022)
We were familiar with the history of the hotel and were therefore particularly excited... and we were not disappointed. Yes, the hotel is getting old and there are little things that definitely need to be done. But it's little things. The charm of the hotel is unique! We stayed in the old part on the upper floors with a view of the Alster. The room was surprisingly large, well maintained, cozy and clean. The reception was very friendly and left no questions or wishes unfulfilled. A heating problem was circumvented ingeniously late in the evening and completely solved the next day. The breakfast and the breakfast room are very nice, varied and all supported by very friendly staff. Conclusion: anytime again in this hotel!
Randy Mo (21.12.2022)
I cannot recommend the hotel and I can only agree with the assessment of the previous speaker "Sara B" (4 months ago). The breakfast was under all guns (no rolls, no jam, scrambled eggs, no toast, etc.). People who still want to book (only without breakfast). Many other reviews here are fake. We will not book this hotel again either.
Hello Randy,

I'm very sorry you had a bad experience, but that doesn't stop you from spreading lies here. I would be happy to answer as follows:

1.
We always have rolls in the house, because without them we probably can't do it. At most, it may not be replenished quickly enough, which of course should happen.
2.
We always have three kinds of jam, honey and Nutella on the buffet.
3.
We do not use tube scrambled eggs, which we can prove with delivery notes. I don't know what tube scrambled eggs are supposed to be either. If you mean ready-made scrambled eggs, then you are wrong. The eggs are cracked fresh every day and prepared accordingly. Incidentally, the word and the method of preparation tube scrambled eggs do not exist.
4.
We also always have toast on the buffet.
5.
Claiming that the reviews here are fake assumes that you are accusing us of fraud. What that means in legal terms should be clear to everyone. We didn't write a single review here ourselves, and we didn't buy any either. It's disgraceful that you say something like that.
6.
If you and Sara H. are one of the few here who didn't enjoy the breakfast, maybe that's because the breakfasts are usually good. But of course it's easier to claim that the other 800 reviews are all fake.
Somehow it's funny again that you had to pick out a rating from 4 months ago to substantiate your statement in any way.

Incidentally, I offered Sara H. that she could contact me personally so that we could clarify this. Didn't do it. Why? Because it's simply easier to pull off the leather behind a pseudonym than to deal directly with those it affects.
I'm not offering this to you because you knowingly spread lies and that's beyond my tolerance.
In addition, you could have complained directly to the hotel, which probably didn't happen because I had no complaints and I wasn't told about them either.

Basically, I don't want to claim that food on the buffet isn't available at the moment or that if you're there very early, that everything isn't ready yet. And also not that we do everything perfectly, because there are always days when something goes wrong on our part.
However, what you claim here with scrambled eggs and fake reviews is the bottom drawer.

In any case, we are very pleased that you no longer want to enter our house.

I had asked for 2 double rooms with a connecting door...we were offered the AlsterSuite. What can I say, it was very spacious with a view of the Alster. Window to sit in🤩. We enjoyed it very much. We celebrated 2 birthdays here and were spoiled on both days. Every one of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, my grandson got sick and slept a lot. We enjoyed the large living room in the suite all the more. No question, we'll be back. In the low-cold time for 😂
Hello Sylvia,

Great location. Everything can be easily reached on foot or by public transport. Car can stop. Breakfast is excellent. Breakfast times are finally suitable for late risers. The rooms are clean and tidy. Fee for underground parking space very expensive and cramped. Room is more like a washroom. staff very friendly. Too bad the restaurant was closed. But all culinary wishes come true one street down...
Hello Susanne,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Unfortunately, the restaurant will remain closed due to the general staff situation. But as you mentioned, there are a variety of restaurants just behind the hotel in the "Langen Reihe".
You are also right about the parking spaces, but €12.00 for 24 hours is rather the lower price category by Hamburg standards.
I didn't understand the thing about the washroom?!

Wouldn't stay here again. Breakfast staff are nice. The reception staff aren't particularly friendly. They never greeted you when coming or going just got on with what they were doing. When we asked to change our room which was horrible we were asked why we wanted to change it. I think we had one of the worst bathrooms I have ever been in. We are currently staying in another hotel which is super nice. None of us would day in a relaxa hotel again. change it.

The rooms are very small and take some getting used to. To the inner courtyard it was ok in terms of volume. The rooms facing the street were very noisy. The breakfast is super good.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Hotel well located on the banks of the Alster and perfect for families. Possibility of parking on site and possibility of bringing your dog(s). For those with allergies, watch out for dust mites in the bedroom carpets. Very reasonable price given the location. Very popular breakfast buffet.
Wolfgang Schleichert (10.11.2022)
Very nice place. Delicious breakfast buffet. Pleasant ambience.
Nane (07.11.2022)
Very well located hotel right on the Alster. The hotel is certainly getting old, but it still has a very pleasant charm. Our double room was clean, quiet and rather large (fourth floor of the main building, facing the inner courtyard). You only have to go around the corner and you can stroll comfortably through the long row. Bus connection available. I think parking for 12 euros/day is reasonable. You can even have breakfast until 12 o'clock, really great for late risers. Alternatively, you can find something in various breakfast cafes around the corner. The ladies at the front desk were always nice and tried very hard. I think the value for money for this hotel is great and nicer than some 0815 chain, even if here and there a step is crooked... so the relexa has its own charm.
aki (04.11.2022)
The service was excellent and the staff was friendly across the board! We didn't explicitly mention that we were traveling with a baby (we only had the child in the booking) and a cot was already made up on arrival with a cute teddy inside (hygienically packed). It was my father's birthday on the day of departure and we hadn't explicitly mentioned that either. A breakfast table was decorated on the occasion of his birthday, we got a sweet birthday cake and sparkling wine. Incredibly attentive and really very friendly staff!
Sigrid Klaus (04.11.2022)
We had been given a voucher for an arrangement in a premium double room. When we arrived we were greeted warmly. The lady at the front desk told us that we had a nice room with a view of the Alster. When we got into the room everything was fine. Until we opened the window, it was pretty noisy. Too noisy for us as we always sleep with the windows open. So we went to the front desk and asked Whether you can do something? We got another room which was a category below. The room was very nice and very quiet. But unfortunately there were still hairs from the previous guest everywhere on the carpet. After we said this at the reception, the employee apologized and the room was cleaned immediately. Great service, thanks again. The breakfast was rich, except for yesterday morning when the worm was in it. We came for breakfast shortly before 8 but unfortunately there were no rolls left. When asked, we were told they had been ordered. We waited for the rolls for almost half an hour. I know that's complaining on a high level, but it has to be said. It was very good that we could park our car in the hotel's underground car park the whole time. All in all a nice hotel which we would be happy to recommend. Keep it up.

Nice staff, but unfortunately our room was not clean. In 4 nights our room wasn't even cleaned let alone toilet paper refilled, we had to do that ourselves. The breakfast was not the best, but sufficient. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel.
Hello Jenny,

Thanks for your review. I can understand why you only gave us one star if the room wasn't cleaned. A small second star for the equipment would also have been nice :-).
I cannot tell from your text whether the room was not clean upon arrival or whether this was due to the lack of cleaning in between. And unfortunately there was probably a communication problem here.
Since our cleaning company has a lot of problems finding staff, we only clean the rooms at the request of the guests. I think we failed to tell you this upon arrival and I sincerely apologize for that.

We would be happy to welcome you again despite the circumstances. You are also welcome to contact me personally for a booking (olaf.dierich@relexa-hotel.de) so that I can accommodate you.

First of all...we love Hamburg and this year my husband and I wanted to stay overnight for the first time, which was not possible otherwise because I had a small, old cat who recently passed away. Now we finally wanted to spend a night in Hamburg, on our wedding day, I had seen pictures, under the reviews etc. and then we wanted to treat ourselves to a premium room... and it was a disappointment... we came to the 4th Floor, room 44, opened the door and the first thing we felt was a musty, old, funny smell, ugh, first open the window... Room with a slope towards the window, fortunately I'm small and my husband only 175 cm big, that's the height, at the window, maybe 185cm high and I could hardly look out...I then sat on the sofa and then I could also look out at the Alster...the description said something about maritime flair, hmmm, I didn't find anything and the sloping roof room wasn't a premium room either...bathroom was nice and a bit newer...it's a shame how you get deceived by pictures, welcome to reality...breakfast was good and there was a good selection, but the Buns don't come from a baker, they are pre-baked rolls and Not the best either, you can't have everything, the mini pancakes were delicious and the bacon, my husband said... it's a shame that the hotel doesn't have a restaurant for the evenings, but you'll be rewarded at the "Seehaus" opposite it was very delicious, sushi and many other delicious things are there... that compensated us a bit. When paying, the guests were asked in front of us whether everything was ok...we weren't asked, which is a pity...another piece of information for the director, who answers some of them, in room 44 the table lamp on the window side is slightly defective, it crackled in the switch, so I pulled the plug. We will not book a room there again...I don't know what kind of strange, musty room 44 is, our things also all smell like the strange smell...really a shame about the money...disappointed greetings to him Director...Martina Jiinger
Hello Martin,

here is the director who will not only reply sometimes but always if a text is also left. Thank you for your detailed review, even if it's not that flattering.

You're right about the room, I checked that. The room has water damage from a leak in the roof. Since it was in the very corner, behind the curtain, we didn't discover it and unfortunately nobody noticed the smell, which is a bit of a mystery to me. I am very sorry that your stay unfortunately had to be underneath. I will get in touch with you via e-mail.

Our premium rooms are all very differently equipped. They had a room directly under the roof and unfortunately they don't have the nice high ceilings like the other floors. As you rightly pointed out, however, all the bathrooms have been relatively recently renovated.

It's actually a bit difficult with the bun at the moment. Our supplier informed us at very short notice that he can no longer deliver to us (no more drivers). So an interim solution had to be found before we found a new supplier. I don't think it's that nice either, because I'm not a fan of pre-baked rolls. Unfortunately, we couldn't help ourselves otherwise.

As already mentioned, I will contact you personally.

"I finally redeemed my birthday voucher, musical + overnight stay and decided on this hotel. The location is super central on the Outer Alster Lake. I also happened to get the room that I had seen on the homepage and had wanted. Sweet little room, unfortunately the beautiful wallpaper is already a bit worn, large tear on the wall and it is rolling up in the corner! The shower stall is very narrow due to the tap on the right and the soap dispenser on the left which you keep bumping into. I would have liked a small fridge with drinks in the room and a hygiene set in the bathroom! Towels, hair dryer, TV available... Great! Breakfast buffet very large selection, unfortunately at 9 o'clock no grain rolls left! Staff very nice and friendly! Unfortunately I only had 1 night, but I'd love to come back! 😃
Hello Claudia,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for giving us 4 stars despite the small flaws in the room.

We will be happy to put a fridge in your room on request and we will think about optimizing it because of the position of the soap dispenser.
You can also get hygiene articles at any time free of charge from the reception. It's just that we haven't had them in the room for years, because they're often taken away, then eke out an existence in a drawer and then eventually disposed of. Of course, since we also try to be as sustainable as possible, we limit the "waste" a bit. And of course it was always a big cost factor.

Regarding the rolls, we are currently having problems with our baker, who stopped delivering at very short notice. Apparently there are no more drivers. We are working on solving the problem, but unfortunately it is not possible to find a new supplier that quickly.

With the best 3 star hotel I know. The room we had wasn't too big, but everything was there, with a view of the Outer Alster. We even had a walk in closet. The room (number 31) faced the street so it was noisy, but when the windows were on it was very quiet. The whole house was very, very clean and I really liked that. The breakfast was really great, it was always refilled if something was missing. The rolls were not baked goods, so great. There was a great variety of teas and coffees. There were many guests with children in the house. We accepted the offer with the city tour and the harbor tour, it was great.

We had two small but fine single rooms. the location of the hotel is very good. Everything is very easy to reach by bus and train. The breakfast buffet was also great, as was the entire staff. I find the cleaning of the rooms particularly praiseworthy only carried out upon request. I never have the room cleaned for two or three nights. This certainly explains part of the very good price-performance ratio.

I give it 3 stars and that's only because of the nice staff. The "premium room" was right next to a very easy expressway, rotten bathtub and shower, broken cosmetic bin, dirt on the floor, much too warm in the room, so the baby couldn't fall asleep, very noisy, the elevator for three people very narrow, only a narrow buggy or stroller fits in. We were there for the first and last time
Hello Vira,

Thank you for your rating, even if it is not really good for us.

I can't quite understand the shower/bathtub because the room "only" has a bathtub, but no separate shower. And I don't understand how a bathtub/shower can be scruffy. Our bathrooms are fairly new, so I'm not quite sure what you mean by that?!
A broken cosmetics bin can happen, but of course it shouldn't. Of course, it should also be clean. I'm sorry we didn't pay enough attention here.

Unfortunately we do not have air conditioning, which is due to the age of the house and which we cannot change in the future. The street in front of the house is not an expressway, but the background noise is of course not insignificant due to the 5 lanes. But you have a beautiful view of the Outer Alster from these rooms. In the summer it is unfortunately problematic because it is difficult to sleep peacefully with the windows open. We have free earplugs at reception, but in your case (with a baby) it's of no use. Did you ask at reception if you can switch rooms? We also have a lot of rooms that are quiet at the back.

The elevator is unfortunately very small and that is also due to the age of the house. Luckily you lived on the first floor ;-).

The Hotel Bellevue is one of the oldest houses in the city and unfortunately it is not possible to make everything completely modern or just to install air conditioning. Likewise, one cannot simply enlarge the shaft of the elevator. We would like to implement many things because we know about the problems. Unfortunately, our hands are tied on many things.

In any case, thank you very much for giving us the three stars for the team. That is a very, very nice compliment and very motivating.

The rooms are unfortunately very small and not air-conditioned and therefore very warm and stuffy. Due to the location on a busy street, the noise level is quite high when the window is open. However, you are within walking distance to the HBF, the Alster and the city center. Absolutely suitable for a short stay. For longer stays I would rather look for another hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Some reviews and our stay in this hotel prove once again that every impression is subjective. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and our expectations were well exceeded. That's why I'm happy to award 5 points, because the existing price/performance ratio is absolutely in balance. If you need more, you just have to check in at a higher-class hotel. We had booked 2 single rooms in the St. Georg annex, although this wasn't felt to be an annex at all. Of course it was clear that not every room had a perfect view of the Alster. Our rooms were clean, stylish and had everything needed for a short break. The mostly very young staff is absolutely friendly, helpful and competent. I would particularly like to emphasize the patience of the team, which took care of every "unusual condition" of the guests with great commitment. Even as a paying guest you should take into account that people treat each other there and that a bit of consideration and patience never hurt anyone. In any case, we go home satisfied and if our way leads back to Hamburg, then this hotel is the first choice.
Hello Sandra,

A nice hotel with friendly staff. Whether with the booking and also in between before arrival was helped and reminded again. As soon as we checked in, we were greeted in a friendly manner and everything was explained. The entrance is friendly. We had the annexe. Everything you needed was there. Yes there are a few points maybe just a new coat of paint. But you can cope with that and you can understand it for the corona period. But we warn there to sleep and not to look for small amounts and during the day we warn on the go. Breakfast was rich and there was something for everyone. The staff often went through and looked to see if anything was missing. If anything was missing, they filled it in quickly. Always smiling and friendly. Price performance was great we would love to come back.

The great clean comfort room surprised us with a large bathroom. The staff was courteous and friendly. At the breakfast buffet we could choose between sweet and savory delicacies. However, if you wanted to air the room in the evening/at night, it was too loud outside to be able to sleep peacefully. Also the old building room was generally very badly soundproofed.
Hello Marion,

Thank you for your review and the compliments to our team.
I agree with you about the clairaudience and that is of course due to the age of the building. Located on the street, it is somewhat difficult to ventilate. But we have free earplugs at the reception just in case (as a little tip for your next stay). Or you can tell us when you make your next booking that you would like a quiet room at the back. "THE WINDOW TO THE COURTYARD" : Hitchcock-(Travel)-Circus with horror guarantee! Our stay with you was booked by "Travelcircus" as part of a package for the Harry Potter Theater in Hamburg. The location is great, the pictures on the internet were appealing and they officially advertise "3-star superior". As part of the package (974 €, 2 people), "TRAVELCIRCUS" had well over 600 € available for booking accommodation with them (200 € per night). A 12qm² room was offered as a double room in "Haus Hohenfelde" outside of her house with a direct view of a dark inner courtyard which is used exclusively as a parking lot. To top it off, the mediocre view from the window was blocked by a massive fire escape. Access to the room in the stairwell has the flair of a 1950s industrial building. The directly accessible fire escape is probably necessary for safety reasons as an emergency exit through the window (!!!). Pulse and tension increase... Me and my daughter found this very uncomfortable and left the room immediately. 3-star superior looks completely different! After neither she nor TRAVELCIRCUS were willing to recognize this as a defect (room size, surroundings, "view", value for money), we immediately left the hotel and booked another accommodation for another €650. Basically, "TRAVELCIRCUS" is the culprit here, and probably books their "budget/low-price/entrepreneurship" model. However, they go along with this and believe that the "evicted guest" is playing along silently. Together they move hereby probably in the context of a usury business. The DEHOGA (German Hotel and Restaurant Association) would probably see it similarly. A legal clarification of the facts currently seems unavoidable but is also an integral part of the TRAVELCIRCUS business model. Their "customer service" makes the pulse rise again enormously. I think that as a hotel you should seriously consider whether you want to continue using such "business models" to acquire customers. The fact that they offer such rooms cheaply is ok, but they should take into account that "Travelcircus" operates profit maximization on the edge of §138, paragraph 2 BGB and the guest is aware of the "significant imbalance of the offer". This "ambiance" would not be conveyable with transparent pricing! When walking from the hotel entrance to "Haus Hohenfelde" (3rd floor), just imagine that you pay €200 per night for this room and just want to spend a nice time in Hamburg with your little daughter . Enjoy the walk through the stairwell and the view of the fire escape. Would you offer these rooms to your family and friends? Think about it. I have no doubts that, as a traditional hotel, they only want to offer their guests the best out of conviction. The location is great and we found your staff in the foyer to be very nice and charming, even if the problem could not be solved on site. These problems must be solved in other ways. Don't sell your good reputation to these business models. RESPONSE TO YOUR OPINION (review unchanged): a) "Clarissa du Bois" from TRAVELCIRCUS confirmed to me that your hotel is NOT certified by DEHOGA. b) TRAVELCIRCUS had more than 650€ available to book 3 nights in your house (ie more than 200€/night). c) We did not measure the room. Next to the bed was 1m space and in front of it about 1.5m with the desk. Sanitary area is not included. We didn't move on in vain. If you rent a car online for €200/day, you have certain expectations. If you then get a POLO, then as a customer you are entitled to complain. If the landlord doesn't want to understand where the problem is and reduces himself to "that it's a car and drives" then something is wrong.
Hi Daniel,

I really don't know how to answer that!? But I'll try anyway.

I have been the manager of this hotel for 18 years and have never had such a complaint. The hotel could not be built so that every room has a view of the Alster and the fire escape is for your safety. And you're right, this is a rule and isn't there because we think it's so nice. The door at the bottom, at the end of the fire escape, ensures that no one can enter the ladder as it can only be opened from the inside. There was also not a single case in the 18 years mentioned where the stairs were used improperly. Not to mention that there were shady rabble hanging around.

We have very, very many Travelcircus guests in the house and there have never been accusations of usury. You buy a total package and this includes the tickets and the hotel. I don't know how you come up with the fact that the hotel gets €200.00 for it. We get a fixed amount from Travelcircus and we have no control over how they resell it.

The room is also larger than 12m2 and the courtyard not only has parking spaces but also a small separate terrace area.
In accordance with Section 164 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, one should not go public with false allegations. Where we're at paragraphs.

Far be it from me not to own up to faults (as you can read in other reviews here) and you're probably right that room 330 isn't the largest room. You are also right about the view. Nevertheless, the room corresponds to a 3-star superior room and we were newly certified by DEHOGA just a few weeks ago. The classification of the stars does not only have something to do with the size of the room. It's all about the hotel.

At the end I don't want to forget to thank our team for the nice compliment. You can also rest assured that we would have gladly given you another room if one had been available. We really do everything to make our guests happy, but unfortunately it's not always possible.

Right on the lake at the end of the Saint Georgi district, a 12 min walk from Hamburg Central Station, this little gem of a hotel has all you could want in a stay in Hamburg. They welcomed me and my small dog with comfortable details that were very kind.

We stayed here for 2 nights for CSD 2022 and couldn't have gotten any better in terms of value for money. The room was modern, spacious and quiet at the back. Everything made an upscale impression and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely come back here and the location is very good for activities. Deserved 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hello Mr Ehlert,

Thank you for your nice review. We hope that you were not only satisfied with us, but also had a nice CSD. If you are already planning to come to the CSD for next year, we recommend booking early.

The hotel is showing its age and the rooms can be quite warm without air conditioning in the summer. But the rooms are very lovingly designed, the staff is very nice and helpful and the breakfast is also very good!
Hello Alexander,

Thanks for your review. I am very pleased that you were so satisfied and I was even happier about the praise given to our team.
Of course we know that the hotel is getting a bit old. Corona and other obstacles have meant that the "refresher" has stalled. But we will catch up on this as soon as possible, piece by piece. But first we have to earn some money :-).

Everything is great from A to Z. Service staff very courteous and helpful. Rooms very clean and modern furnished. A wide range of breakfast options. WiFi available. Nice terrace to end the evening. Running back and forth for information to order new ones was annoying, but that's complaining at a high level. There is a point deduction for the non-existent parking facilities. You'll have to come up with something again
Hello Yildiz,

Thank you for your review and the compliment to our team.

Unfortunately, our options for parking are somewhat limited. We cannot build more than what is available now. Another disadvantage was that the parking spaces around the hotel had only been available to residents or for a fee for a few months. Especially in summer the hotel parking spaces are very busy because we have many families in the house. Outside of the holidays, everything is a little more relaxed.
We recommend arriving by train, if not possible. The main train station is only 10 minutes (or two bus stops) away from the hotel.

We would be happy to welcome you again despite the parking problem.

Guys, hands off! Don't let the reviews fool you! Because I was very disappointed. I can't understand the good reviews at all. The room was not clean, it was very noisy, no air conditioning, everything was empty at breakfast. On request, a pre-baked roll was placed. We left immediately and had an excellent breakfast at "Frau Möller" around the corner. The service was ok but far from helpful. Not 3 1/2 stars in my eyes. I will not set foot in this hotel again. I wish I could give zero stars, but as you know, that's not possible
Hi Sara,

I am very sorry that you were not satisfied. But the good ratings are genuine and we do everything we can to ensure that our guests are satisfied.
Of course, the fact that the room wasn't really clean shouldn't be the case and I sincerely apologize for that. I'll talk to the cleaning company about it.

At breakfast everything is always refilled and until the end. But if there was a big rush, we can't always keep up.
Our rolls come from the bakery, but if they are not enough, we bake some ourselves. This is very rare and I'm sorry that it happened to you.

We actually don't have air conditioning in the rooms, but it doesn't say so anywhere. If this is important to you, then you must choose your hotel accordingly. We have no influence on that.
We have these "complaints" every summer and we would also like air conditioning. Unfortunately, in such an old building, it takes a lot of effort to retrofit them. Apart from climate protection, the effort and costs are not in proportion to the benefit. Therefore we will not be able to offer air conditioning in the future either.
However, the breakfast room is air-conditioned and you can have breakfast there at a pleasant temperature ;-).

As already mentioned, I'm sorry that everything wasn't ok. You are welcome to contact me and we can talk about it again in person.

The location on the Outer Alster is very good. Bus stop two minutes away. Central station can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Unfortunately very loud. The rooms are probably poorly insulated. The inner courtyard serves as a place for very loud conversations until well after midnight.
Hello Schorsch,

Thank you for your review and for the compliments to our team. I am very sorry that it was too loud in the inner courtyard. I will discuss this with the night service so that more attention is paid to it.

Breakfast is a little expensive but very good. There are restaurants and cafes right in the back street.
Thank you so much. In today's situation, we find the price of breakfast completely affordable.

Very central area. About 10 minutes walk from the main train station. Nice view of part of the Alster. The hotel was very clean with a nice bathroom. We didn't try breakfast because at €18 per person it was too expensive for our purposes. Our room had a nice high ceiling, a four poster bed and a TV, with the addition of a safe and mini fridge. I can definitely recommend the hotel.
Hans-Werner Seider (25.07.2022)
Our room, 14, faced the main street. The volume was bearable with the windows closed. The room is very very old and not renovated. The windows very dirty, also from the inside. The bathroom has been renovated, unfortunately only with a tub and no additional handle that would make getting in and out safer. The breakfast is okay, but there were probably only rolls from the day before?! Reception and farewell has room for improvement. Like everything else I have above. For 2 nights it is reasonable.
Hello Hans Werner,

Thanks for your review. In our opinion, room 14 is in good condition. Of course we'll have to paint again, but the carpet isn't that old and neither is the sofa. As for the rolls, the fact is that the bakery delivered us rolls that weren't right. But the problem is solved and we have the usual good quality again. The windows have now all been cleaned. We really let that slide, for which I sincerely apologize.

We are pleased that it was basically "reasonable" for you to stay with us :-).

Great location. room ok Beds were a bit uncomfortable and relatively small. Parking available. But the car shouldn't be too big because the driveways are very narrow. Parking costs 12€ per night. I find it a bit expensive.
Hello Marian,

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't seem to have slept all that well. We have different rooms with different beds. During your next stay, please let us know that you would like a larger bed.
As for the parking fees, I can assure you that the €12.00 is on the low end. You won't find a much cheaper parking space in downtown Hamburg.

We would be happy to welcome you again despite the small impasses.

Especially a big compliment to the service staff. It was always there with a smile on its face. The view from the roof terrace of the hotel. with a glass of Prosecco in hand and the overwhelming view over Hamburg. Thank you for the great information that the nice lady of the house gave me. I would particularly like to mention the excellent breakfast buffet. It left nothing to be desired. All desired coffee varieties were personally brought to the table. A beautiful house,. I can only recommend it and would love to come back.

The room was quite warm. Ventilation was not possible through the street in front of the window. Otherwise everything was just fine. Without corners and edges.
Hello Rene,

Thanks for your review. The thing with the windows facing the street is actually a bit difficult. But we also have (if necessary) free earplugs at the reception. Unfortunately, the heat in the room is due to the old building and unfortunately we can't do anything about it. Air conditioning in the old building would simply be too expensive and not in proportion to the benefit.
We would be delighted to welcome you again soon and stay with us

We were just on a short vacation here, had a wonderful room, delicious breakfast and the staff was very courteous. The hotel is centrally located and can be easily reached by public transport, we even got a parking space in the courtyard... again anytime ;)
